St Anthony's School
St Anthony's School
School Details
St Anthony’s School is a small, co-educational Catholic primary school offering Prep to Year 6 education within a welcoming, caring, and family-oriented community.
Founded in November 1954, the school was led by the Presentation Sisters until 1985, when its first lay principal was appointed. The Sisters’ presence in the school continued until 1997. The Sisters are fondly remembered for their role in shaping the school’s culture and values, and for their contributions to the wider Toowoomba community.
The history of the Parish can be found today throughout school life, from the school’s logo and motto, which embody the spirit and charism of the Presentation Sisters, to the names of the School Houses: McMorrow, honouring Father Patrick McMorrow, St Anthony’s first Parish Priest, Treacy, which recognises the school’s first principal, Mother Jarlath Treacy, and Nagle celebrating Honora ‘Nano’ Nagle, founder of the Presentation Sisters.
Today, students at St Anthony’s are nurtured in both learning and faith, with visits from the Parish priest and opportunities to participate in liturgical celebrations helping support and grow students’ understanding of the Catholic tradition.
