Welcome to Parish Life
All those who visit St Anthony’s are warmly invited to participate in the life of the Parish. New members are especially welcome.
The involvement of parishioners plays a vital role in the day-to-day functioning of the church and its community and is integral to creating the welcoming and inclusive environment for which St Anthony’s is known.
If you would like further information about any of the following, please contact the Parish Office. Meeting dates are advertised in the Parish newsletter and during weekend Masses.
Parish Governance
Those interested in joining the Parish Pastoral Council or Parish Finance Committee are asked to first seek nomination by a current member.
Parish Pastoral Council
Meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 5.30pm in the Parish Office.
Parish Finance Committee
Meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6pm in the Parish Office.
Parish Ministries and Support
Liturgy Committee
Meets monthly on Tuesdays in the Parish Office to plan forthcoming services.
Baptism, Marriage, and Funeral Teams
Members of these teams assist families and the Parish Office with the planning of each of these services.
Hospitality Team
Arranges catering for Parish functions.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Distribute Communion at Aged Care facilities and to housebound members of our community.
Music Ministry
Music Team
Members meet monthly to plan and rehearse music for Masses and other events in the upcoming months.
Musicians
Musicians (including music students) are encouraged to join the team to provide music for weekend Masses. All instruments welcome.
St Anthony's Choir
Rehearses on the last Sunday of the month and open to both adults and students. New singers (including soloists) are always welcome. The choir sings at weekend Masses and members may also be requested to sing at other services.
Multicultural Choir
Sings at St Anthony’s quarterly Multicultural Masses: all languages welcome.
St Anthony's Men's Choir
Sings at the Vigil Mass on the third Saturday of each month.
Community Involvement
St Vincent de Paul
The St Anthony’s conference of the Toowoomba branch of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland meets each Monday at 4pm in the Parish Office.
Social Justice Group
Meets first Wednesday of each month (February-November) at 5pm in the Parish Office.
Abrahamic Faith Gathering
Meets quarterly in Toowoomba on Tuesday evenings and hosted twice a year by St Anthony’s.
Other Activities
Friendship Group
Meets at 10am on the third Tuesday of each month (February to November) in the Community Centre. Morning tea provided in exchange for a gold coin donation.
Gospel Group
Meets at 10am each Wednesday in the Community Centre to discuss the weekly Mass readings.
Men's Group
A social group for men that meets for lunch on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 12:30pm.
Children and Young People
Altar Servers
Children and young people who have completed the Sacramental Program are invited to assist the Priest during Mass. Please contact the Parish Office for details of the next training session.
